So here's how that Ely Poster turned out....

First off, I'd like to thank God for the two snow days we got in which I got to dedicate some serious work to this project. Had I been required to turn it in on time, I would have been severely dissatisfied.
I started out with a really rendered colored pencil version, but found that after the digital application of color, it looked a little too messy for my liking. So I redid all the coloring and drew over the linework digitally. I was really pleased with the image (aside from the type... I'll fix that later on).
Out of all the seniors' posters, the image we picked to be mass produced was an awesome design by Jim Tierney. So congratulations to him, he totally deserves it!

Ely ely ely, I've had enough of this Ely guy!

We have been asked to design the poster for our senior thesis exhibition.
This is Round One of the sketch phase. I'm abandoning the third idea and amping up the first two compositions in another round of sketches. From there I will select one to take to final illustration, and then I will perfect the type design.
My favorite is the crabbies, but I'm nearly positive the client would rather go with the sidewalk chalk. We shall see which is the victor...
